Day | Itinerary |
Day 1 | Arrive at Paro • Arrive at Paro airport, after immigration and custom formalities, your guide for the trip will receive you at the airport. • Visit Ta Dzong, one of the finest natural Museum in South Asia. • Visit Rinpung Dzong which is in the same location as Ta dzong- built in 1645 to defend the valley against Tibetan invaders. • In the evening, stroll along the main street and visit local handicraft shops. • Overnight at Paro. |
Day 2 | Paro - Excursion to Taktshang Monastery • Walk (1.5 hrs) to the spectacular view of the Taktshang Monastery (Tiger's Nest), perched on a rocky ledge over a 900 m. • Experience unforgettable view of Mt.Jhomolhari • Visit the historic ruins of the Drukgyal Dzong, built in 1647. • Visit 7th Kyichu Lhakhang on the way back. • Overnight at Paro. |
Day 3 | Paro - Thimphu • In the morning, drive to Thimphu. • On the way visit to the Semthoka Dzong. • Sightseeing at Thimphu- Visit to the National Memorial chorten, National Library, Folk Heritage Museum and important sights at Thumphu. • Visit the Government -run Handicrafts Emporium and privately owned craft shops. • Overnight at Thimphu. |
Day 4 | Chele La Ridge Hike • In the morning, drive via Paro to Chele La (3750 m), highest pass in Bhutan. • Hike upto the Kung Karpo La (4100 m). • Enjoy the breathtaking views of the snowcapped mountains. (weather permitting). • Visit Kila Gompa nunnery. • Walk down to road lined with white chortens. • Overnight at Paro. |
Day 5 | Departure Distance: 108 km and 3 hrs • After breakfast, drive to the airport on time to catch your flight. |
Day 6 | Trongsa - Bumthang • Early morning visit to Trongsa Dzong and other historic sites. • Trongsa sightseeing and drive to Bumthang. • Overnight at Bumthang. |
